This is a great tip for fishing the soft swimmer. I started fishing them last year when the bass were siting on beds, this is how i started using the baits his way instead of swimming them. i spotted a nice bass laying off the shore throw worms and jigs at her with no takes i was looking though everything and decided i would tie on a sebile. i casted about 10 yards past her and reeled just a foot or so before and let it drop and fished it as a dying minnow as soon as the bait was 8 inch or so from her the line took off to the side and bam got a 5.8 lb. This was just the start i fished just this bait for 2 months using all the colors and different retrieves but after all that time the dying minnow caught alot more than the others. I took big bass 5 times last yr at the tourny's and 1st 4 times just using this bait and the dying minnow retrieve also my best fish being a little over 8 lb on this bait.

Now how i do the dying minnow, ill cast into cover or along a bank and let the bait sink with no weights just the hook, the minnow will fall this way then that on its own this well get fish right away if the bait landed close to a bass if not i just give it a few 2 or 3 small jerks and let the bait die again and just keep doing so till i see the line take of on the fall. i had several ppl that just stoped fishing to watch me use this bait i was catching bass after bass. Also you can use the bait fast as a jerk bait jumping it in and out of the water works well when the bite is on hot. I use both 4 and 5 inch models but had my best luck and all my biggest fish were on the 4 inch.As fare as color here in wisconsin i had good luck with the bluegill, natural shinner and the white but the best was natural shinner,Put it this way i glue my swimbaits to get more life out of them and i still went though 15 bags of the baits. So if you have these or want a good swimbait give these a try and try the dying minnow retrieve im sure it will catch you fish

These are a bait I have been wanting to pick up they look awesome you were saying you were gluing them back together now how durable are these I know some baits catch one fish some catch multiple I feel usually the softer the plastic the better action IMO.

they hold up pritty good they rip on the back where the hook slot is but its a easy fix and u can catch a few more on them i would say i avarge 6 to 10 bass on one minnow depending on the size of the fish, but they are worth the money i put the kvd scent on mine i think it helps. i the 2 months of only using these baits i would say i caught over 300 bass just on this bait.

as fare as the action you will think its a real minnow in the water no lie, fish it using the dying minnow or swim it but use small jerks as you reel and it will go from left to right all on its own there a great bait. I use a spinning reel med heavy with 12 lb floro and get great action

i also do this i used my gf's nail glue and opened the bait and put a line of super glue on the inside along the back where the hook slot is, it does dry hard but its in side the bait and does not effect anything but will stop the hook from ripping the back of the bait.mend it works good to but stays soft and it will rip after a few more fish, i do the same with all my hollow bellys and they last alot longer

mend it works good for me thats what i keep in my bag and in the boats, i have used a few kinds and i think mend it works good but i also use finger nail super glue from walmart it will never re rip but it drys hard so i only use that on the inside of the swimbaits

they work great i had days of 30 bass in 8 hours but i never caught much just reeling the bait in but if you throw it and let it sick then give it a jerk or two the bass just slam them, i love the bait

great bait especially on bedding bass. Alot of times i get the bass excited with a Matt bluegill and then get her to eat this bait in 4 inch. If that doesnt work then pop in the dropshot and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIIIIINNNNNGGGG8)

Thanks for the tips. Those are one of my favorite baits. They work great in the weeds and Lilly pads. I get a lot of bass to blow up on them on topwater there.
