This is Lance Vick. This is the same video I was going to make this spring, but since Lance did it already, I don't have to bother since he uses the exact same baits 80% of the time that I do.

That jig trailer looks crazy. Has anyone ever used that one before?

I do, most of the time, but that is a Grandebass bait also.  I thought I used that in a video before, maybe not, but I use that also. I think they are out of those right now at TW, but they will get more in soon. I have every bait they make except for one. All those worms, and the other baits are all Grandebass that I use, except for the Zoom and Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers. I do use a lot of trailers at different times, but those three are just my main trailers. They have those baits right here>> GRANDEBASS << click

I do trim them a little bit. Not much just a shade past the hook point is how I like them and I find I get better hook ups without scarificing anything, but they suggest not triming them, but I do.

I would have cut about an inch off the trailer. I have it down to a science how I modify all my baits/lures

are jigs also effective when you work them like a worm in open water in for instance a pond?

I don't trim mine anymore. I tried different things, trimming skirt, trimming a part of the weedguard, and honestly I noticed no difference. It's a preference, and as long as a Dirty Jig is being used, I think it's a win.

Generally, if it's sparse cover, I downgrade the size of my jig and trailer. Generally I let fish dictate that though, first I'll downgrade the size of my trailer first though, for example, switching from a Netbait Paca Craw Trailer, to a Paca Chunk. Then I might try something even smaller depending on the situation like an Eekins Craw Trailer or the Jackall compact.
