Cool video below of Fred Roumbanis vertical jigging on Lake Norman. Behind him you can see smoke/steam billowing from the power plants. This plant creates the "Hot Hole" were fishing can be good no matter how cold the air temps are. Funny thing, last time fishfanatic and I were at Norman we did some vertical jigging really close to the same spot featured here. Unfortuanately, it was the same result. However, there are times when you can load the boat with a mixture of large mouth, spotted bass, stripers, and white perch. Tight lines....

He is not fishing in the actual hot water discharge cove but he is fishing a long point in front of Queens Landing. A popular place that i have caught them several times. Between hwy150 and Marshall Steamplant.

I fished the Marshall area last Sunday. It was tough to find a place to park in there. I fished main lake points and docks. I had a few on a jerkbait but my 2 bigger fish came off a jig on one of the shoals next to deep water. I am really just learning this end of the lake and really the whole lake for the most part. So much water to fish and so many docks to fish it really can be tough to learn. Billy

Yes that area can be very crowded at times. It takes a lot of time to learn. I have been fishing norman for years and still learn every trip. Thanks for posting your report and welcome to the site.
