Don't get me wrong. I like the rain. Rain refreshes the water, and with the dry spell we've been having so far this year, alot of local ponds and lakes could use the rain. But COME ON! On Friday? The one day a week I get to fish? It's slowed to a light drizzle now, but the weatherman says isolated thunderstorms. I can fish in a drizzle, but T-storms are nothing I like to be holding a long stick in the air in. We'll see at noon. Hopefully today will be my day. Hopefully the overcast weather and a little fresh water will get the bass out. Hopefully the title of my next post in this section of the forum will be "Boom goes the dynamite!" (You know, for when I catch a big bass and say "Boom goes the dynamite!" What, you guys don't say that?)

DANG...and I thought I had it bad. I guess I'm just spoiled. We certainly could use some more precipitation, just as long as it doesn't come on Fridays.

Yea that's another thing I guess I'm lucky to avoid...ice. There's year round open water here. In the winter when bass aren't productive, there's always the "spot tailed bass" (that's what a lot of local yokels call redfish, or red drum, or whatever you wanna call them) and speckled sea trout. Bass is my passion though.

Well, no "boom" but it was better than last week. I got a solid 3 lber in about 1 hour of fishing...a few more strikes that I couldn't get the hookset on, and a couple I lost that were all my fault...didn't have the drag set right on one of my reels...but the one I did catch was totally worth it. Caught on a dirty jigs swim jig in alabama bream color with a Reactions Innovations little dipper as the trailer...good hour of fishing...

Just a little neighborhood pond. Air temp was at about 75, water at about 60, the sand gnats and mosquitos were terrible, and I didn't come prepared with a camera, it was just a quick outing between jobs. I gotta squeeze it in where I can, you know?

Yea, I'll have to try to remember it this Friday. I've got two of the dang things, I just never think about it. I'll stick one in my tackle bag so I can't forget it.
