www.reelgoodguide.com is proud to represent & introduce a new bass fishing frog called - The Clones - a.k.a. The World's Best Bass Frog! We welcome you to visit the site to watch our (4) four available youtube videos featuring the Clones. A little about the frogs. The Clones are the creation of Captain Ken Daubert. Ken is famous for his Designer Frogs which graced the cover of the 2010 Oct BassMaster Magazine & were featured in the article "How to make a better frog." The designers are truly a work of art. The problem is that they are made one-by-one by Ken Daubert himself. They carry an expensive price as well - $50! Ken also makes what he calls the replicants. These go for $30. The other challenge is that since the BassMaster article, Ken is backed up for months on orders for these frogs. To solve the worldwide demand, Ken unveiled the Clones! These are the mass produced version. They possess the same Kicking Legs action & are priced right at $9.99. Hundreds of hours on the waters by thousands of fisherman confirm that the Clones catch just as many fish as the Designers or replicants. This season at www.reelgoodguide.com we are having a unique customer contest. We encourage that you email us your success stories & pictures of Bass landed on the Clones. We will post every customer picture and assign that photo a number. At the end of August we are going to have a vote with customers & we are going to reward 1st, 2nd & 3rd with an Original Designer Frog! 4th-6th will receive a replicant. 7th-10th will receive a free Clone Frog. Hope to see your entries soon.

You know, it's not too bad. But, good news for doubters, in late May we will be unveiling our Skitter Legs & rear stinger hook package. The Skitter legs essentially turn the Clones into weedless buzzbaits. The rear stinger hook is a two-thirds treble which almost never misses! Once this is out you can decide on the original kicking legs or the skitter legs. The stinger hook works for either

can you put the stinger hook on the regular legs, ? i feel as though turning a frog into a buz bait somewhat takes away the purpose of have the action the frog was designed for? but in my mind i kinda invision it nearly impossible to throw in a trailer hook with the legs because it seems like when you jerk the frog under structurethe trailer hook would catch ?

Jonathan - Yes you absolutely can utilize the rear stinger hook with the original kicking legs. And, I understand what your saying about the buzz frog, but I've got to tell you that Ken Daubert has been absolutely slaying the bass on this Skitter Legs & rear stinger hook lately. I have a prototype that I can't wait to try. Unfortunately it snowed 8 inches up here in Wisconsin yesterday. Opener is only two weeks away, "can't wait "(Bart Scott - New York Jets) Anyway, according to Ken this Skitter Legs is the real deal. They are suppossed to be here around the end of May. I'll let you know when we have them. Nick

Ever since I saw this video: I have been dying to try one of these frogs but $50 was too rich for my blood. Now that they are down to $9.99 I will have to give them a try! You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

I have been using the Clone frogs since the end of last summer. THey are definite the best frog bait I have used. THey have the highest hook ratio of any frog I've used, which make sense with the hook up front, because most of the time bas try to attack their prey head first. There are still times you need the walk the dog action of a spro but this frog hands down catches fish.

I've got much respect for Spro & certainly the new Koppers Frog. Definitely taking paint & attention to detail to another level. Problem is the Koppers is just a beautified Spro or Tru-tungsten, Ish etc. with the same tight hooks around the back of the body. We all know that these style frogs miss plenty of fish. I've fished every type of frog, and I can honestly say that the Clones have a truly unique action & garner way more strikes than the tradional frogs on the market. Until you've tried the Clones, I don't believe you can make a case for Spro, Koppers or anyone others. Thanks for the feedback. Can't wait to see the future videos from you guys!

These frogs look to be great for open water or pads but how do they perform around matted grass? On the Potomac the Spro frogs are king because they can make enough commotion to get the bass to strike through all the matted grass. Either way I will be picking up a few of these to try.

The World's Best Bass Frog is picking up some serious steam lately. We just exhibited at the ICAST show in Las Vegas & got a ton of great press. Aaron Martens is even working with Clone creator Ken Daubert on becoming our 1st really high profile angler! The Clone frogs are also going to be featured in the upcoming August issue of In-fisherman Magazine! Realizing that some of you aren't in-love with the original front hook system, I can't stress enough about how awesome our new Skitter Legs & Rear Stinger hook systems are. A ton of huge bass are coming in on a National basis with this setup. Check 'em out at www.reelgoodguide.com

So on Sunday I threw my clone frog in some pads on the Potomac River. I got a nice 2 pounder and missed two other blowups in 35 minutes before the tide moved out and left the pads dry. My thoughts: -The action of this frog is pretty spectacular once you figure out how to work it. I throw my frogs on a 7'3" mag heavy rod with 65lb braid but I think this was too stiff a setup for this frog. I notice that Ken Daubert always throws his on a spinning rod and his action was better than what I was able to produce, I will try this frog with a 6'6" MH spinning setup with 20lb braid on my next trip out and see if my action and hookups improve. -The hook is not a heavy hook and my braid might have been too much for it. The weedless bands for the hook are a great idea but mine kept coming off in heavy pads, next time I will bring spares. In sparse pads it works great but if the pads are tight the band does not hold well. Perhaps a heavier version could be made with a larger barb for the band to attach to. -Blowups on this frog are heart-stopping. Unlike a spro popper where you often see the bass follow the frog before they hit, the bass seemed to hit this lure with no warning whatsoever. Two of my blowups involved the fish coming completely out of the water! -When setting the hook with this frog a pause is not always necessary. I missed two in which I counted to 2-mississippi and set the hook but the one I landed I set the hook the moment the fish landed back in the water and it stuck. -This frog is not a good option over matted grass, it cant get low in the water for the legs to move. I did not try the kicker legs which might be a better option on matted grass.
