I have caught some in real yearly in the morning like 2 hours or more before its even light enough to see,i used black and blue and caught some with a dark bluegill color as well, so i bet they would work just as good late afternoon after its dark

It is a fantastic night bait. Use the dark colors on it and hang on.

Silent at night is no good. Bass need to either see the bait or hear it. The vibration that the chatterbait puts out is ideal for low light conditions. Thats why a single colorado blade spinnerbait in black is so popular at night. Remember at night go dark and big, big worms, big spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, black buzzbaits etc...

Do you all use a trailer for a chatterbait at night or would it make a difference? Just use the same trailers as in the daylight?

A chatterbait is my absolute go to night bait. Ive caught bass to 7 1/2 pounds in public ponds on it at night. Get there at 11 and leave when the sun comes over the trees. Youll be leaving having tore bass up all night as guys are backing their boats in for a nice 100 degree day.

In louisiana we kill bass at night with a black and blue chatterbait. They work great on cool summer nights when the bass are out feeding in the shallows.
