Anyone use a trolling motor to ease the paddling on their canoe? Saw a guy on a lake by my house today using strickly a trolling motor to get around the lake. With a lot of places banning motors this appears to be a good idea but im not sure. I have a 16' flat stern canoe that has the ability to add a motor up to 55 lb thrust. Do you think its worth setting up a trolling motor, mainly for the fishing aspect.

I think it would be much better than paddling around.

Before I bought my boat I used to borrow a canoe from a friend to go fishing in, and let me tell you, if I had had the option of hooking up a trolling motor to save myself all that paddling I would have done it ASAP. However I always slept good after paddling all day haha.
