Would you recommend, or should I say, what topwater lures would you recommend for choppy water?

Buzzbaits would work but i prefer swimbaits with rough water because it pushes out the bait fish and requiring them to move, that is why often you can catch numbers of fish on windy days on windblown coves because bait gets pushed up in there then bass follow in to feed. I would stick with a soft swimbait, Reaction I, sebile, strike king, yum, etc, just because its more of a visual thing while they are already hunting, and a buzzbait would somewhat coenside with the chop making it more difficult to locate.

Bait doesn't actually get pushed. You cant push a fish of any size at all with wind. It is the Photoplancton that is pushed and it draws the baitfish which in tiurn drwas the bass or other gamefish.

Buzzbaits and rattletraps work for me. And what works for you is what really matters. In my opinion.

if the water is clearer to lightly stained a spook is a good choice even with some chop

When the bass are active I will throw out a spinnerbait and keep it close to the surface ocasionally popping it out of the water, the bass generally hit it after it grts popped out of the water or you let it just fall. Tight Lines

I agree with Tom, Smithwick Devil's Horse is always tied on when it's windy and choppy as all hell. Other than that, a large rattling spook is the only other topwater bait I throw in those conditions.

Arboghast Sputterbuzz lure or any other various propbait lures. Have also done well with larger poppers and chug bugs.
