We hit Spruce on Monday, Weather was crazy.. Pouring rain all morning only added to the already high muddy water. It's pretty cool though.. You feel like your on Kerr, cause all the brush is in 4 to 7 feet of water.. We flipped brush for hours with jigs and brush hogs with no results. I switched up to a Lucky Craft BDS 1 crankbait and started catching them. Total reaction bite... Bang it off the brush and u got bit!! Had a decent limit of about 12 lbs.. We worked our way all the way past the power lines with only the minn-kota, a long long way from the ramp then around 7pm the sky turned erie shades of grey and purple, looked really kinda scary. Then it began raining sideways and my 21 foot boat was being pushed backwards by the wind. I saw a park rental boat go by with a 9.9 on it, the most this state allows on this waterway. Really not fair at all!! Oh well?? Pulled up the trolling motor fired up the E-tec 225 and made it back to the ramp in 25 seconds rather than an hour. All good no rangers saw, I think?? I have a tournament Sunday on Manasquan and I don't know that place at all...if anyone has some tip's i'd appreciate it..

Send a message to Tom Wolverton, our Pro Staff Administrator here, he has won at least 50 tournaments on there before. Seriously, that many!! | |
