I have a 2003 Starcraft with a 50hp Mercury 2-stroke. The boat is rated for a 75hp motor. I get the motor tuned up every spring, but I have a lot of problems with it stalling at low speeds. I'd like to make an upgrade to a 4-stroke preferably 70-75hp. Does anyone have any recommendations? Right now, I'm thinking about the Yamaha F70 but heard they are hard to find.

I just ran one and I loved it. the size and weight also were appealing in the 70 Yamaha.

^ Newer yamahas are very small for their size, id estimate a 150-200 being the size of a 90 of most other makers.

I think Alan saw one at my lake when we went. I just ran one just like that one. I really liked it for the size, power, price.

Right again! The 70s are tiny, the two adhesive numbers on the housing 7 and 0 barely fit side-by-side.
