I plan on purchasing a couple X-CALIBUR silent square bill crankbaits.  Does anybody use them on a regular basis and what is your opion?  I'm sure Steve is getting tired of me asking about square bill crankbaits!  This will be my last one! lol

There lipless baits are top notch so i wouldn't expect much less from them. Ive had luck on the KVD silent baits so they should work great with better, atleast in my opinion paint jobs then the KVD baits.

I've got kvd 1.5 and love them.  I want a little higher quality though, since i'm not going to waste all my cash on 1 RC 1.5.  Some of my STRIKE KING baits came with eyes missing and bad overspray on the paint.  I'm going to give the X a try.

Yeah, i ordered a ton of SK stuff from BPS last fall, spinnerbaits, cranks, and top water and half of them were missing an eye or uneven paint and i wasnt going to waste weeks for baits or 6$ to ship them back, i tie flies, i put on one from my box and super glued it in, i only buy SK in store now.

Also, another option is spros microboard square bill line, a little more expensive but cheaper then LC and durable.

There has to be some reason why KVD the best crankbait fisherman today uses strike king baits. Im sure he could get any bait company to make him a square bill.  I use the 2.5 all the time in the spring and have never had any trouble with them. Never had any missing eyes or paint. You might just have got a bad crankbait.  Dont give up on the strike king lures yet.

He uses them becasue he has been with Strike King since the beginning and they gave him the best money deal out of all the offers, that is honestly the reaason, but that said, Strike King makes decent baits, but they are just another mass produced bait company in my opinion.

I'm not giving up, i'll be ordering more.  I just think the quality went to pot after the classic!  Mass production and quality control issues.

Hmm I thought about the KVD silent cranks but opted for the dirty jigs and trailers to see what all the fuss is about. I did get some KVD line conditioner to go with the floro I ordered. I'm having trouble with my card I think it's squared away I hope cuz I was looking to go back and get a square bill. Thanks for the info fellas!

It doesn't seem to matter about quality control on high-end crankbait's either.  Got my TW order in today.  One of my X-CALIBUR silent square bill crankbaits came with both eye's missing?  So i guess you can't just blame the cheaper model manufacturer's!!  They are still a sweet bait though !!

Like Steve said, look at the jackalls. The ASKA 15's are supposed to be awesome. I can't wait to try them out. I love everything that I've tried from jackall so that's pretty much what I'm going to stick with for hard baits especially. Their bling 55's are really good too!

I could care less about the eye's, the finish is perfect!  Was just trying to make a point.  All my KVD'S came in great, nothing missing!  lol
