With so many different style lures, terminal tackle and gear how are you keeping it organized when you go fishing?  The single tacklebox that carried all your gear for the day has pretty much gone away.  Do you plan the night before and try and take only the tackle you need?  If you do, how many times have you said" i've got ten bags of those color worms at home!"  I would just like to here how people prepare for there day of fishing.  Do you bring everything but the "kitchen sink" or do you load up a bunch of plano compartment boxes with baits and hope for the best?  Just a thought to ponder, because i am sure there is alot of us who overpack and end up using the same 3 lures all day! lol

I have a simple tackle bag that can hold 4 3700 series boxes (i might upgrade to a better bag soon) but I bring the boxes of baits that I think I am going to use (example, topwater, cranks, lipless cranks, and jigs) and I change the soft plastics for each trip depending on where i am going, and i store them in the side pouch. When I am going to a tournament, I bring more, because I want to be prepared.

I always over pack just in case, you never know when it is going to be a slow day and you want to try somthing else. We can study the place we are going to fish at all day and night but in the end, the fish determine what is going to work that day.

I think everyone probably uses the 3600 or 3700 boxes.  I guess that you just have to take what you think you may actually need or just take to much.  There maybe no black or white decision.

If I was just going for a while and knew what I was probably going to throw, I would bring a backpack with a couple boxes in it with the baits I thought I would need. It makes it easier and lighter. But, going to lakes in a boat, I think it is worth it to bring a lot of gear.

Exactly, if i am fishing my local pond i don't bring alot.  What if i go away and haven't been there for 2 years.  Which of your baits are you going to take.  Probably alot you don't need.

Ha, anymore, when I go to one of my regular ponds, I just bring one rod with a frog tied on, and no extras, just because I am so lazy, and that is what I will throw the whole time anyways!

Long as use catch them, who cares!  I take a rattletrap and catch them at my closest pond.

Tackle Storage for shore fishing, small ponds and lakes, co angler tournament fishing, and fishing as a boater or Pro in a major event all require completely different tactics for storing and well as different bait selection, so none are really the same. All different ways you need to store things for different techniques and situations. As far as what we store them in?? PLANO boxes for most baits, and for swimbaits >> TUPPERWARE. Thats the deal.

I fished alot of co-angler in the Redman/ BFL trail.  It really is tough to scale your tackle down but you have too.  Going to the same lakes a couple times over the years helps thin down your load.  Keeping your rods to a minimum helps, because you never know what kind of boat you are fishing out of till the night before!

I have a similar system under every lid on my boat except the livewell lids.  Great for plastics, jigs and spinnerbaits.  Nice job!

If your compartments aren't lighted.  Get some LID-LIGHTS, there are nice!
