 im lookin to get an Ardent F-700 with a Dobyns flippin rod ( MH or H? )... a Quantum crankin classic with KVD's crankin rod 7'4 MH ( good for all crankbaits? ), a Quantum EXO 7.3:1 with a EXO 7' MH ( spinnerbaits and small swimbaits? ) and im stuck on a spinning combo for drop-shot, wackey rig, and shack head, also flick shakes ( try and stick with Quantum Please )

What do u guys think???

I agree I only use Shimano and St Croix except for big Swimbaits, and then I still use Shimano but a different rod.

ardent's are really nice but if you are like me and dont have alot of experience with baitcasters the free spoolage will throw you for a loop, you can cast 3/8 oz and up a mile, but since you are using a flippin/pitchin reel I don't think it will be a problem.

I have a KVD Quantum Crankin' Stick and a KVD Signature Series Quantum Reel with a 7:1 Gear Ratio that I'd sell. It's not a bad setup, but I'm trying to switch all my gear to Curado/Chronarch and Loomis. I just bought that setup back when I thought everything that said KVD had to equal winning.

Ooo yea i no... i calculated it all last night, but the good thing is that i have my 8th graduation in June soo theres roughly 400$ plus and i have 500$ now and since its winter, i can shovel snow and get 20$ each time! soo i will hopefully be good then if i order through The Bass College, i prob. will get a lot of free baits lol

I forgot to mention CI4 Stradic as well, I've never owned a better spinning reel than that. I only need two spinning setups though, so I'm good there.

One word for the Spinning reel, Fuego... That Daiwa Fuego on sale at TW will blow ANY quantum out the water and the price is crazy. I know you said keep it quantum but Im telling you this quantum spinning reels have ALL kinda problems with their A/R Roller bearings,

They slip when its cold and they slip when its hot and if you want to loose fish when you set the hook and the reel backs up then buy a quantum spinning reel. I get requests to fix that problem on them many times a year and I turn them down because I will replace it with a new OEM Quantum roller bearing and guess what? Same thing happens again. that Fuego will own any 300 dollar spinning reel out there and its almost Steez light and its built tight and solid and is wicked smooth with a awesome drag, great line roller and the air bail is awesome on Daiwa reels. Take it from someone that sees 100's of spinning reels a year stay away from quantum. Go with Daiwa or Shimano or even Pflueger. Also the drags in quantum spinning reels are for the most part like a light switch,

They dont have a large adjustment range and you have to turn it way up to get it tight or leave it loose as the middle settings almost cause no change in drag... So more less you have light, Med and heavy drag settings and cant really fine tune them and thats one thing spinning reels do better then casting reels and thats have butter smooth and adjustable drags. If a Quantum spinning reel is a must then I would go with the new EXO or Smoke reels OR the last model PT Tour. Stay away from the Signature series reels as they are STUPID hard to get parts for even when still being made and forget about it once they arent made anymore.. Quantum doesnt stock those type parts and they have to be ordered from Part Hawks that charge 2-3 times more then what they should be because they buy like 20+ of a reel and fully part it out then sell them to us reel guys and charge out the you know what.

I have a mint condition Quantum catalyst PTI10B ill sell you if Quantum is a must and a 10 Size reel will work and you want a great deal.

sorry for multi-post, If you have never used that Adent flip/pitch reel make sure you play with it before you buy it. Its a VERY nice pitching reel has tons of FIXED drag, Pitches well and is built like a tank.. The bad its un-comfortable(To me anyhow) and th way the thumb bar is it just doesnt feel refined or even decent for that matter and takes A LOT of getting used to. I LOVE Pitching its overall my FAV way to bass fish and in FL I do A LOT of it.. and tried and tried to give the reel a fair shot it just didnt pan out.. I went in big and bought 4 and sold everyone, I gave them all a fair chance because I wanted to force my self to like them because they are great reels for that job so I would go out and only take those 4 reels so I had no choice but to use them and did that for 5 trips at 9+ hours a day on that water and every day came home hating the way they felt and that thumb bar.. So go play with one for a good bit and mount it on a rod and check it out before you buy.

WELL. There you go. I tried to tell this before.. Now you heard it from a guy who has absolutely no interest in any reels at all in the way of sponsors or money. This is all he does and is an expert at this and he is telling you what I said before. Take it for what you will.
