Got out for a few hours this morning and hit some of my local ponds. Figuring the weather being nice and catching a nice lil girlie yesterday, today was gonna be the boobs. Boy was I wrong. My first pond I fished all around several times trying all different techniques and only managed to get one dink on a chart/white War Eagle Spinnerbait. Booooo, so I move to my next pond hoping for the best. First few casts and WHAM! solid 2-2.5lber a few feet from shore. fish was sitting off some rocks in about 3-4 feet of water and engulfed my Dirty Jigs Swimjig. Tried the rest of the small pond up and down and didnt get but one other strike, which just so happened to rip my Grandebass trailer in half. Then to top it off, I lost the swimjig in some deeper rocks...awesome . oh well if you're not losing jigs you're not fishing them right. called it a day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Nugf4qY5g&list=UUriWqwlmgn0-6vGvlA7fQ3A&index=1&feature=plcp

is there a way to enter an embedded video in our posts? or can the webmaster allow that? it'd make it a ton easier for you Steve, rather than having to find everything off youtube and the such

this rod is BPS Carbonlite Med action 7', reel = Johnny Morris Gold elite. imo, one of the best bangs for the buck you can get. especially when I grabbed the carbonlite on sale for 79.99 and the JM reel for 100.00. lovessss it.

depending if the weather holds up i think they will be normal fish and feed a few times a day. just not nearly as aggressive until its a little closer to the spawning season unless for some reason winter never hits hard. i personally think nature is nature and the cold weather is coming and will hit us primarlily feb and thru march. we shall see, who knows. the fish arent active nearly as much as you'd think with this weather we've got, so instinct and water temps are still keeping them sluggish. bites have been soft, but i think it really comes down to being on the water at the right place and right time when fish are feeding to draw a bite. If it stays nice, I'll be out almost daily and I'll let ya know how pre-spawns coming along
