As you all know it has been a very warm winter so far. Normally I stay inside during the cold months because I dont have the patience to fish in the winter nor do I like to freeze! But this winter I have been fishing a lot more and I'm sure you guys have too. What has really been my go to lure even since November is a lipless crankbait. I've been fishing at this small lake for the last week and have had lots of success. What Im doing is finding isolated patches of grass where the bass are holding and throwing my crankbait right into it. I let it sink down and rip it hard through the grass and let it flutter down. They have been thumping it on the fall. Sometimes I count to 5 or more before I feel the bite. I like the red eye shad in sexy shad and chrome colors. Cotton Cordell's will do the job for the price but in my opinion the red eye shad has better action. I've had some people recommend excalibur crankbaits so I picked one up to try later. I've have also heard that Yo-Zuri makes good ones but I dont feel like paying 8 dollars when a red eye shad will do just fine. What has worked for you guys during this warm winter? I'm curious to know!

A chatterbait worked well a couple days ago on the two warm days we had.
