Hey guys, wanted to share this with you. Woke up this morning before sunrise and decided to fish a lake 25 minutes from my house. I bundled up. It was 27 degrees. There was ice forming in my guides. I caught 2 little bass on a z-man chatterbait, slowly bouncing and ripping it on the bottom. I headed over to some thick cover, big trees in the water, casted a 1/2oz Bill Lewis Rat'l Trap, Chrome and Blue, Bleeding shad. A few small rips and then let it sink, slow reeling with a few rips in between the logs. Keep in mind this was the LAST cast of the day. I thought I had something else on like a northern. This fish took quite awhile to land and was hooked with JUST ONE HOOK from the treble, the other hook from the set of trebles resting on the gill plate. BIGGEST bass I have ever caught in my entire life. 10lb test.

WAY TO GO TIM !!! Great job geating out there and landing that bass. I bet it wasn't the last cast after catching that thing. LOL What do YOU think it weighs? Nice pics but if you could get a shot of the belly side next time that would be great.Good job on the P.B Tim. Keep up the good work.

Lol my adrenaline was just flowing, I made my dad get in there and lip the thing. We were both in complete shock. I've caught 5 and 6 lb bass before and it was, no doubt, in the 7 range. Didn't even bother bringing my scale because I didn't expect to catch anything over 2 pounds lol.

Absolutely! If it wasn't for these guys, I wouldn't have believed in a ratl trap and it would've never left my tackle box! Today took away any doubts lol

there ya go Tim!  Way to stick it thru the cold weather, that seems to be the time when the biggest fish hit!  I'd say that fish is every bit of 6.5-7lbs.  Again pictures tend to make it hard to judge, but it's easy to see that is a LUNKER!  Whereabouts in PA are ya?
