Hello All, As a kid I bass fished a lot during summer vacations in the Poconos of PA. In fact, caught my personal best (7.6) on a small pond there--I must have been about twelve, which is kinda sad since i'm in my thirties and haven't come close since. In my late teens and early adulthood, I kinda fazed fishing out, pursuing other things instead. A few years ago, I was going through some streessful times and it began to make be one angry SOB. My wife suggested that I needed to get a hobby. As silly as it sounded, I remembered the simple pleasure I used to get fishing from an old row boat as a kid. Well, one porta bote (Yes, the folding boat .. . i live in an apartment) and thousands of dollars in tackle later and I'm an avid weekend warrior. (If my wife knew about the bait monkey, she might have suggested that I take up bird watching.) Bass fishing, I could honestly say, keeps me sane and out of trouble. I love it. I don't claim to be the best at it, but I love to learn . . . that's why I'm here at the Bass College. I ran accross your vids on Youtube and think they are just fantastic. (The one on small hair jigs inspired me to go out last weekend in sub 40 degree water--i'll be damned if it didn't work!) Anyway, great site here, i'm very glad to be part of it. | |
