Well Scottie "Spanky", his nephew Austin , Vinnie and myself went to Candlewood yesterday  4-21-12.

We got there around 6:00am  and it was about 58 degrees and a light wind.

Water temp was 54 degrees in the morning and by time we left it was 56.

I fished with Scottie in my boat and Austin fished with Vinnie in his boat.

Scottie and I  tried some of my Spring spots.

I was looking for beds to see if I could figure out what the fish were doing, so we started shallow with Dirty Jigs and Kreature baits.

i was throwing a Nemisis bullet craw with no luck, so i switched up to an Assassinator spinnerbait  "compact" in chartuse with gold blades and in about 5 minutes I had my first fish, a 2 1/2 lb.

i told Scottie to try a fast moving bait, and he tried a Rattlebait and in 5 minutes, he had his first fish, a 3lb  Brown Trout! lol!

We moved to some of my favorite spring spots and in alot of spots there were already boats in them! ..so we went to this paticular cove that I like with no luck but, we saw some dead and dying Aelwives floating.

That made me think of  trying a Keitech Swing Impact , a 4in little swimbait rigged on a 1/8 oz Keitech jighead "Tungsten" with a dab of super glue to hold it on better.

Scottie got the first one with it a nice 3lb Smallie.

We tried alot of spots, then we hit this island in the middle of a flat and Scottie and I got about 7 or 8 fish, mostly largies and a couple of smallies.

i called Vinnie to let him know what was going on and he came there also, and they caught 3 nice ones there!

We fished until about 6 pm and for Candlewood this was a tough day, i think with this last mild winter and weird Spring weather we had here up north it had something to do with it!

We talked to a few guys who were actually from Connecticut and they all said the same things, it was tough.

I'll be going back up there and hopefully Scottie will join me with his new Go Pro Camera he will be getting soon.

I had a great time and I'll be going back soon and my next report should be ALOT better!   I would have had video of all the great bass we caught but Scottie left the camera out on the deck of a high speed Skeeter and it is at the bottom of the lake.

Had a great time. Weather was good and the fishing was fun. Next time ill have to remember that I'm on a boat that a little faster the my tracker. Lots of things can go flying of the back of the boat when your going 70 MPH....

What model camera did you get. I am looking at the Kodak play/ sport.  Just wondering which model is best?  Where did you get it, for the best price?
