We launched around 6:15 am with air temps in the high 50's to low 60's.  Most of the day was spent near the shorelines.  Water temps ranged from 59*F - 62*F with average water clarity for the lake.  The day started out overcast and changed to mostly sunny for the remainder.  I ended up with a limit of largemouth, between 9 and 10 lbs and the big bass of the day (3.5 lbs).  All of my fish were caught on soft plastics.  My partner outfished me, boating at least 15 largemouth most of which were keepers.  For every bass we saw on a bed, we probably saw 15 or 20 empty beds.  No big fish and not exactly a banner day but I'll take a limit whenever I can.  Good luck and tight lines.

Nice . [img] will not work here. you need to insert the direct link into the box when it opens. Click the blue squre and insert the direct link. It works best with Firefox and google chrome.  Nice bass. And Hopetcong can be tough at times, thats not bad for right now.

Thanks

I think I may have missed most of the largemouth spawn.  My partner had 60 fish days the two weekends prior to when we went.  All things considered, a 10 lb bag wasn't incredibly exciting.  But as busy as I've been lately it was my first bass trip of the year.  So like I said, I'll take the limit.

Thanks for sharing!  Love Lake Hopatcong when the water level is normal... Bought my first bass tracker at Clarks Landing Marina in `97...  Another great spot to fish up that way is Lake Musconetcong, which is part of Lake Hopatcong State Park...http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=lake%20musconetcong%20nj&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CG0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.state.nj.us%2Fdep%2Fparksandforests%2Fparks%2Fhopatcong.html&ei=NxvKT7SeCKXX0QGqhcWuAQ&usg=AFQjCNELK6FiiZgBbotmQwLfdpPD69o0mA
