Member Posts: 121 | Mike. I have fished Oneida a bunch of times. If you're targeting smallies fish the shoals with natural colored tubes. I also crushed them on 3.5 inch keitech swim baits slow rolled last year around this time

Oneida is a cool lake. In summer and fall you can catch smallies and largies schooling on sammies and poppers. Senkos and tubes on grasslines always produce. But my favorite way to fish Oneida was to go super shallow and throw frogs, buzzbaits and beavers around grass, pads and docks for Largemouth. You dont always catch as many but theyre quality bass

the keitech 4in swimbait on an 1/8oz ballhead jig works GREAT on the shoals and around grass and youll need to bring your dropshot stuff and if your by the matted grass frogs and jigs for largemouths your going to have a ball up the smallmouth heaven and a 2lb smallie up there fight like there 6 lbs on steriods!!!

I can't wait to go the Oneida. I will be fishing the Northern Bass Open in August. I have never been there, I hope to go up this spring to check out the lake. I could use any advice anyone has to offer!
