I recently purchased an Okuma big bait 7'6'' heavy rod and was anxious to try it out . It was paired up with a Citica reel and 20lb Sunline Flourocarbon line. I was using 4 and 6 inch Hudds. Like always I lost three or four 3-5lbers as they shook off before getting them in. I did land 3 bass on the 4'' hudd. They seem to bite that more often than the 6'' version atleast where I fish although the bass are plenty big to eat the bigger Hudd. I like the stoutness of the rod compared to what Iv'e been using to throw big swimbaits.

Thanks.. Zack, I'll try the braid next time and also throw the Osprey top hook 6'' . Does the line through baits have a treble hook or top hook? Alot of the ponds around here are gunked up and the exposed hook will catch everything but fish lol. | |
