This evening was a small club tournament on Random Lake. Vince and I teamed up again for this one. Two fish limit, biggest two bass wins, and seperate big bass side pot.

This lake doesn't have alot of bass, but they're there if you can find them. The lake is class A muskie waters for this area, and the muskie really keep the other fish populations down.

We fished a spot first that vince knew had some bass in it, as he's caught them there before. He was hooked up on a really nice fish with a wacky rig, but he surfaced and spit the hook. I pitched my jig in the same area and hooked into him again, and we were able to bring him into the boat. 3lbs. No more action on that spot, so moved on to some pads that looked really nice, and started jigging the edges of the pads, and was able to pull another 2lber into the boat from the pads. After that, neither of us were able to pull in any more fish, very tough evening. But it was enough to win the night, and we were happy with the catch.

Vince and I are teaming up for a larger tournament on August 18th at Long Lake, with 1st place being a little bigger prize money, almost $3,000 for 1st, with 25+ boats. We think we have a really decent shot at taking 1st there, so please cross the fingers 'n toes! We'll be pre-fishing it on sunday to check it out and see what we can find.

Thanks Simon. Yes, definately having a great year. Let me know when you move into the area, and we'll get together for some fishing. Also, if you'll be here before the fall feeding frenzy, you should really consider coming with Vince and I up to Lake Shawano for that. So many 3lb+ fish that your eyes start seeing bass when you close them afterwards!
