The Bass College

we launched this morning at 6:00 at smallwood state park with a water temperature around 80 degrees. we started the day in occoquan bay fishing the grass with chatterbaits, buzzbaits and popping frogs. out first three fish came on chatterbaits. we left occoquan and ran back to mattawoman creek and threw soft stickbaits in really shallow grass and we pulled out theee fish over 3 pounds. the water varied from clear to stained to muddy and the water temperature when we pulled out was 87 degrees. fish were being caught all around us as well all day long. a south wind today made the river very rough with waves that broke over the bow of out boat.

Nice report. Sounds like you had a decent day but at least you caught some good fish.

hey man, i was on the potomac and launched at smallwood, what did your boat look like, i was in a red javelin renegade 20 w/ a 225 johnson, were you in a a blue nitro f&s?.... if that was you then i was the guy who passed you crossing the river into mattawoman

yeah it was a decent day but we couldnt really go anywhere because it was super rough.. and yeah man i was in that nitro

i was in the red javelin renegade 20 w/ a 225 johnson with Mdbassin and yeah  going back to the ramp was really rough but at least we both got fish
