Im a 80s baby born in New York City, Bronx Boroughs, home of the hip hop and soon to be Bass Fishing.
I'm married to Mrs. Kruk, a great supporter, friend and Wife. With two kids and looking to make my team grow.
I lived in the Bronx for 29 years and am still here. I've been fishing since I was in diapers and received my first set up as a saltwater snapper catcher.
Fresh water Bass fishing was never an option, being that my family were into saltwater fishing.
So as I got older, I was determined to find fresh water lakes and find a way to reach them. I was limited to places due to travels so my bike was my only source. That being said, I had a great friend and still to this day, who lived next door to me (Friends for Life), when he moved to New Jersey all options and doors were opened. Fishing this little pond called Johns, is where it all started to get better; big bass long pickeral and hotdog eating sunfish and catfish, first start of my new career. He was the key to new fresh water lakes and its all up hill from there. We fished every lake were able to in his county and out. We were on our big fish hunt and indeed did we do that. We inspired eachother and at the same time shared great experiences. We still hunt for big fish.
Every Saturday and Sunday mornings watching these great pros go at it and share information and catch big fish, I would sit there and record every show and watch it over and over. Family members thought I was crazy but I knew where it was going to take me, but I was still lacking funds, so any change I got I was looking to order or go buy gear ,what a mistake, now it looks like a store.
As I fished more and different baits, one caught my attention.THE JIG; what a saver and big fish catcher. I was so hyped to see my line fall, never hitting the bottom but manages to swim off and whooooaaa, what a feeling to set that hook.
For the past couple of years I have been working on Stasheos Custom Jigs, which I own and looking to make bigger. Having a skill is great and looking to make it known out there is another. On the side I also make flyies and treble trailer hooks just so I can keep busy. At the same time networking and meeting AS many good angler as I can. It's been a long run but so far alot has payed off.
Last tournament I was in was in 2011, which was held by American Bass Shop in Brooklyn, New York, a prospect park just one of the big fish lakes. Out of 22 entries, I came in fourth place, felt great to finally get into something great and allow my skills to be seen. I missed the last year due to being on my honeymoon, but got the chance to fish with Simon from Simon the Bonefish, in the Bahamas, a great guide.
So this year I'm determined to join more and support my new pro staff...
New York City has great fishing waters in all the five Buroughs and very few know about it. We are known for the fast life but fishing is not one ... only the big waters are talked about. That's why I'm here to show and provide information on them.
Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island - we are on the MAP!!!!!!!!!!!
