The best places to start if you are new to fishing the Potomac River are Chicamuxen Creek, Mattawoman Creek, Aquia Creek, and Nanjemoy Creek . Mattawoman Creek has a great launch and can be accessed using a smaller boat and fished all day even from a flat bottom or Kayak with success. There are specific spots in here as well that produce more and bigger bass and it takes a while to figure them out. As with all rivers, tides play an important role in where and when you will catch bass. We offer videos here and on Youtube that show some specific locations and techniques that will help.
