Fishing out of Stockton California off of 8 mile road around 7pm. A couple of the phellas and I arrived on the bank during incoming tide. The water clarity was super clear, so there for I used light 8 pound test flouro with a watermelon/ purple flakes twirl tail 8 inch thin worm, weightless with a size 3/O Gamakatsu g-lock hook. Man!.. I was nailling em. I caught three small ones and had 1 get off the line. Then as the sun started to set, the bite turned off on the bottom, so my buddies threw on Spro frogs (midnite walker), they had blow ups and landed 1 each. Nice solid 2 pounders, they were tossing it out on the muk with an arratic presentation. I swithced to my Spro Bronzeye popper (easy money color). Woooo! man.. they were EXPLODING on that bad boy! I landed 3 off the Spro popper, so i wasnt going to change up my bait, why try to fix something that's already working. So before you know it, I'm working my Spro popper..and BAM! The big one blew up on it! but missed. man.. I was mad. I'd say it was @ least 4 pounds. But, as we all know, if you dont have proof, it's just another fishing story. lol!
