Time: 10am – 2pm

Lake Conditions: Temp?, 2’-3’ Low, Decent clarity with 3’visibility

Weather Summary: Cloudy, drizzle/rained on me nearly the entire time, light NNW wind.

Thoughts: It’s been hot and sunny the past few days. With cloud cover the fish were moving into shallower water to feed. The rain probably cooled the water some in the beginning and sparked them to feed /provided protection by breaking up the water.

I caught the first fish / first cast at the boat ramp on Percy Priest (drop shot), then headed to Couchville.

Roboworm: I now have a new favorite set of worms! The colors are awesome, but the durability is very very questionable. Basically 1-2 fish per worm max!

Fished a quarter of the lake with a few bites but no takers. Switching colors on the drop shot and throwing the only swimbait I have (Lake fork magic shad). Caught all the fish in less than 10' of water. Overall a tough day of fishing but roboworm salvaged it.

Few pics of some of the fish:

1. 10"? Percy Priest Fish

2. 16" (First fish on a Swimbait, Waking it on the surface pissed this fish off!)

3. 18" biggest fish of the day!

Awesome thing happened I met a guy on a NUCANOE and he let me take it for a test run! (I'm sold on those things now)

Final thoughts: Great day despite the rain. Perfecting a few techniques and drop shot is fast becoming my go to set up, but in the rocks I got ate up and had to switch. Swimbait was fun but not as productive as I had hoped and likely due to my newness.

Thanks! Sometimes I keep a similar journal of my trips so I don't forget what I did. (short term memory!)

Thanks everyone! The first bass came out of the main lake in deeper water. Glad I got a pic!
