I know a few ponds downstate get pretty choked with grass (hydrilla?) during the summer. Are they starting to die off and thin out? I was at one pond in July and it was so bad I couldn't run my trolling motor. I'm off tomorrow and thinking of heading down again, but don't want to drive 90 miles if it's still thick with grass. Thanks!

I don't know about hydrilla, but I live in downstate DE and the lily pads are turning into mush now. Old Bass Man

yes, the grass is slowly dying, enough to fish every pond, even the grassiest like millsboro was fine 2 weeks ago.

Depending on what baits you're throwing grass shouldnt be a real problem. I know last weekend I was downstate and had to clean my bait off every cast but every other cast was a fish. The windiness hasn't helped much bc any top gunk is being moved around quite a bit and bunching up in areas. Few more weeks and most all ponds should be close to clean. Can tell you lately tho, that ripping swimjigs, squarebills, and chatters through the grass has produced more than any other fishing.
