Nov. 13,2011 Went to Manasquan resevoir with Donnie D from the site, We started at 700am when the park opened . Air temp was 45 and water temp was 52 So we started flipping the standing timber for about 2hrs! nothing! Donnie tried a shallow crank in the wood-- nothing . Then we tried some rip rap-- nothing . So I decided to try for some Crappies and I think we ended up with about 35 weighing up to almost 2lbs. Big Crappie The wind today was killer, had to be blowing 25 with gusts of 30. There were white caps on the lake. so that was about it. Donnie shot some video so as soon as Steve gets it he'll put it up.

i got about 1 1/2 pound crapie in a pond behind a construction place its pretty sad they pollute the water so much by throwing all there wast in the pond. like 50 gallon drums are all over the bottom of the pond but i guess its good cover for the fish.

Hey I live in PA but am looking to do a lot more fishing in Nj this season. I would like to hit Manasquang as much as i can along with Hopatcong. Dont know much about Mans. know there is a lot of standing timber. Would like to lean as much as i can about the lake because it sounds like a gem. Any tips for this lake would be helpfull. Lokking to get down here as soon as temps are high 50s to 60.
