My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Gambs44 to fish some of his home waters today. RV is a great place to fish, some of the clearest water I have ever fished in NJ. Before we met up, my girl landed a nice bass on a live shiner while I was trying to experiment with the different lures and soft plastics I have in my bag. Once we met up and he advised me that the spot I was fishing off the rip rap is loaded with Copperheads, so we decided we would move to the other side of the lake. I have been having problems with my baitcaster and Gambs set me up perfectly with no more birds nests after he made some quick adjustments for me. Once again, she outfished me landing another LM and a Rock Bass. I managed one Blue Gill on a small spinner while Gambs landed a nice LM on his way out.. It was a great day of fishing, especially meeting up with with someone from TBC and fishing new water. I look forward to meeting up again and learning more as we go along. Big thank you to Gambs for showing us around the lake and pointing out some new spots, great guy to fish with and also a new friend.....

You're welcome BigHam850, I had a great time meeting you and your lovely girlfriend. It was my pleasure to meet up with you guys and look forward to next week. Glad to make a new friend and fishing partner. The day was beatuiful out, especially after all the recent heat. The bite was slow where we were bc the wind was in the wrong direction for us there. But I went to another spot after he left and got 4 solid 2-3lb LM on a Swim Jig w/ Grass Pig trailer bottom rolled in 15' grass. ..He is also a veteran and I was fortunate enough to hear some of his experienes while in uniform. I'm a big supporter of the military, having family members serving overseas recently so we had more than just bass fishing in common. I encourage everyone on the site to try to fish with other members if at all possible. All of the members on here are good people with a passion for fishing, so it's almost guaranteed you will get along and have fun. Also, you can pass on your knowledge and skills you've acquired and help someone understand the basics of bass fishing. It's hard starting out and trying to just locate the fish, let alone use the right presentatoin in the beginning. Especially if growing up you only used live bait, alot of what you read on the net is hard to put in practice without having a hands on demo. I was fortunate enough to have a member show me the basics and take me out on the boat, where I learned ALOT just by watching him fish, how to cast, where to cast, what lure with what size hook, when to use the lure, how fast of a retrieve, how to watch ur line, what a soft bite felt like....the list goes on....I'm no expert by a longshot, I'd say merely a competent bass angler so I learn everytime I fish and read about fishing. BigHam850 is just starting to bass fish after fishign saltwater for years, so I hope I can help him in any way I can.
