The weekend of the 28th and 29th, a Two Day team tournament was held at Lake Shawano, in Shawano WI. Weights were added from Saturday and Sunday, and top 3 took home a check.  5 Fish limit. Launch was at 6am, and weigh in at 2pm. Saturday, my boater and I started in the river by the launch where the water temps were a little cooler, 76 degree water temp, compared to 81 degrees in the main lake. We spent 10 minutes pitching under a nearby bridge that had sharp rocks for a bottom. Boater lost two jigs setting the hook, and I lost two jigs setting the hook, and no fish in the boat. I wasn't going to waste another Dirty Jig on whatever was biting and dragging our jigs into the sharp rocks. We headed out to the main lake to jig some docks and get our limit in the boat. By 9 am We had our limit in the boat from the docks. They were hitting some dirty jigs with craw trailers and wacky rigged senkos. We decided to try the pads to size up. We were culling 5 minutes after hitting the pads. Switched up to a lighter jig, 1/4oz instead of the 3/8oz and and a lighter trailer, and was flipping directly into the pads and letting the jig fall straight down, they would hit it on the downfall. By 11am we had culled our previous limit out and were feeling great that we had a nice limit in the boat. We did try the frog bite some, but they did not seem to be in the mood to hit the frog. We would drag frogs over areas, and then go back to the area and jig in the pads, and they would hit the jig. I pulled a nice 3.5 lber out of the pads on a jig that he hit as I was pulling it out of the pads and getting ready to pitch to another hole. I had already tripped my reel to let out a bit of line when he hit, and he surprised me, I had to set the hook with my thumb clamped tight on my spool! The day was hot and bright, and the fish seemed to be mostly under the pads and moss, but wouldn't hit the frogs, So jigs were the key to saturday!

Sunday - We reversed it a bit. We didn't hit any of the river on sunday, and went straight to the main lake, and to the pads. Boater wanted to get the same action from the day before, only earlier. It was a little cooler of a morning, and very overcast. I didn't really think the fish would've moved up under the pads much yet, and so while my partner was jigging pads again, I was throwing a buzz bait over the submerged weed line outside of the pads. Pulled another 3 lber on the buzz bait, he hit so hard it sounded like a toilet bowl flushing which sent my boater scrambling for the net before I even said anything :D He was able to put two more keepers in the boat from the pads before the bite died down. After that we decided to hit a different section of docks again to fill up our livewells. Pulled our limit from the docks, nothing big, and by that time, the sun was out again, and it was pretty hot. So i suggested picking apart another section of pads like we did the day before, since it was sunny and hot again, I figured they would've moved under the pads again by now. Sure enough, we were culling soon, and packed the livewells with a decent limit again.

Saturday we had 15.2 lbs of weight, and Sunday we brought in 15.3 lbs. Consistent and methodical :D

Two day total of 30.5 lbs, we ended up taking 2nd place and taking home some money. I'm starting to get a little recognition for myself lately also, since I seem to always win something at our events. Either placing in the top 3, or taking the big bass pot, or just winning the smaller club tournaments outright. People seem to want me on their boat :D

Also to mention, in the middle of the tournament (Saturday Evening), I switched all of my poles from 16lb mono, to 50lb braid. What a huge difference, I'm never going back to mono, that is for panfish now.

Below are some pics from the tourney... One of these days, will get myself situated with a hatcam, so I can video some of these. Can't tell my partner that I can't net his fish because im taking video, lol, so I need a hands free hatcam.

Thanks Steve! I do have a shirt already that you sent me previously, and I wear it constantly. This past weekend was the first time i didn't get to wear it, as it was accidentally left in the dirty laundry pile when I went north on friday. (Gotta make the GF do laundry more often! hah!) But I have been really wanting a jersey anyways. What are the prices on a Basscollege jersey from Rayjus? I don't have any specific sponsors myself, so i figure a basscollege jersey, with whatever logos that sponsor the site would be just fine. I use mostly whats recommended here anyways for brands, so it would be fitting. I just don't know what jersey pricing is so i can budget for it.

Zack, Spanky or Rick Mchale will help you make a Jersey or Austin duPree can also. Just go to the Rayjus site and theyll help you if you have a problem Put the New Logo on it though, have them call me if they need it or have any questions. They range from 54.99 to 69.99 depending what you want, and Ill pay 25.00 towards it. Use one of the the 2 logos here in this post,  and Dirty Jigs, Faculty Of Fishing, and Assassinator baits, and Sunline. They have all those logos there already
