Just wondering what would be considered an acceptable amount for a co-angler to give the boater in a Weekend Series event. I was thinking about $50 but was not sure if that was too much or to little. Normally a day on the river costs me about $100-$120. That includes gas for my truck and my boat and ramp fees. Most of that expense is in gas for the truck. I am not sure how that stacks up with others expenses. I definitely want to make sure that I give what is considered to be customary or better for these tournaments. I would rather give $20 too much than be $20 short. Another question would be, when do you give the boater the money. At the beginning of the day or at the end.

I always gave the boater gas money at the end of the day. I beleive when I fished the potomac I gave around 40 bucks. You know how much you spend on that river so whatever you spend about half would be fair. Good luck to ya.Trust me if you give the boater anything that is more than some offer.Good luck.

The minimum is $20.00 What makes you seem like a decent guy and what's fair is $40.00. If you win though, I would never , and I mean never, give them less than $100.00, if I won from their spots and boat. If I won a major event, like say an Everstart, I would give them $200.00. I would give it to them AFTER the weigh ins were over and I saw how I placed. I would tell them though, BEFORE I weighed in what I was going to do.
