Ok so we got to Assupink at around 6 am and there were already white caps on the water. Thank God we didn't have to deal with that becuase there are of course two small protected lakes right down the road. We fished Stone Tavern from 6:30 to around 11 and then Rishing Sun from aroung 11:30 to 3:30. We pretty much caught the same size fish all day. 12 to 14 inchers were the norm at both lakes. I caught all of mine at Stone on a 1/4th ounce spinnerbait, an El Grande Lures Gila Monster Jr., and a KVD 1.5 in chart black ripping it through the weeds. When we went to Rishing Sun we decided to start off by the dam which was a good move. My dad caught around 10 keepers on a small finesse jig with a 4 inch powerworm on the back. I only caught one off the dam on a crankbait. Then we moved to flipping some laydowns with the Gila Monster and the finesse jig and managed some more keepers and shorts. Not an amazing day but I will take it for this tough fall transition we are having!

I picked 3 under 2 pounders up at greenwood today on a 3/8 spinnerbait. Pretty slow. Super windy | |
