SUMMER POND FISHING FOR BASS - HOW TO CATCH BIG BASS IN SMALL PONDS

Pictured left, is the new Delaware State Record Bass caught in a small public pond in summer, by A Klein, on a Strike King Spinnerbait!

There are giant bass in many small public ponds, retaining ponds, farm ponds, and just plain small public waters all across the country. The trick to catching these bigger bass and sometimes just numbers of good bass is going early and late and using a variety of baits that are not usually thrown in these areas. Theres always the exception to the rule though, such as in the case of Andrew Klein, who put his spinnerbait in the right place at the right time, and produced a new state record.

As a general rule, throwing a bigger swimbait such as the Huddleston, a big buzzbait, a big bulky jig, and a frog, produce some of the bigger bass

Take a look at how we approach these areas and what we do in the videos to catch more and bigger bass in these type of waters in the Northeast. The baits and tackle used in the videos can be seen in the TACKLE STORE here at the site.  There are more videos on these tactics for big summer bass from ponds on our YOUTUBE channel
